公益性服务 Attorneys Secure Life-Changing Benefits

父女二人Kevin* contracted a severe infection which forced him to undergo more than 30 surgeries, including one that required the devastating amputation of his leg. In the last year alone, he spent eight months in the hospital.

Thanks to his pro bono lawyers’ efforts, the Administrative Law Judge granted his appeal. He will now receive disability benefits to help meet his most basic needs.

Clarke School of Law (UDC Law) professor 约翰Brittain as the recipient of its 2024 Thurgood Marshall 奖 for his lifelong commitment to advancing civil rights, including litigating important cases across the United States on race equity in public schools and higher education and mentoring generations of civil rights advocates.
